HIGHLAND HEIGHTS RESIDENT WINS NATIONAL AWARDS
CLEVELAND, Oct. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Finast Supermarkets today

announced that Dr. Alexander Sokiranski, a resident of Highland Heights, has won a national level award by the Association of Energy Engineers. An association of more than 8,000 energy professionals, the National Association of Energy Engineers honored Sokiranski with the prestigious Energy Manager of the Year award for lifetime professional achievement. The award ceremony took place on Oct. 13 at the October meeting of the Association of Energy Engineers in Cleveland.
Sokiranski achieved further distinction from the same organization by designing the energy conservation program that enabled Finast Supermarkets to win one of only four corporate energy management business awards bestowed. Finast competed with hundreds of businesses in a 12-state region to win this award.
Noted William Holsworth, president of the Ohio Division of First National Supermarkets, "We congratulate Dr. Sokiranski for achieving these honors. This is the first time in the history of this international organization that the same person has won two national level awards in different categories in one year, one representing lifetime professional achievement, and the other for specific corporate accomplishment. We are indebted to Dr. Sokiranski for the expertise, commitment and enthusiasm he brings to the field of energy conservation."
Sokiranski has more than 20 years experience in the field of energy engineering. He has been with Finast supermarkets for the past three years. Sokiranski has been invited to speak on "Energy Conservation in Supermarkets" at the World Energy Engineering Congress on Oct. 27 in Atlanta. The Ohio Division of Finast Supermarkets operates 35 supermarkets in Northeastern Ohio.
