HIGHEST ANNUAL GROSS SALARY IN 2016 OF EUR 2.7 MN PAID IN PRIVATE HEALTHCARE SECTOR.
The highest income in 2016 reported by a single person totaled 4 million euros. The only detail about this case that the Public Revenue Office revealed is that it is a citizen of Skopje. Among the individuals with the highest annual incomes, as many as eight are residents of the capital and the remaining two are from Struga and Kocani. The majority of people can only dream about the money these people have earned.
"Most citizens, 421,244, reported incomes ranging from 100,000 to one million denars, and only about 22,000 reported income of more than a million denars," said Sanja Lukarevska, director of the Public Revenue Office.
The highest gross salary of 227,000 euros a month was paid in the private healthcare sector. Residents of Skopje dominate this list of the highest paid individuals in Macedonia, too. Seven are from Skopje and two are from Ohrid and Struga.
"Healthcare, pharmacy and information technology remain the sectors in which the highest salaries are paid," Lukarevska said.
The highest dividend income of 1.8 million euros was reported by a resident of Skopje and the highest capital income totaled 1.3 million euros.
