HIGH-PRICED HEIFER LEADS THE WAY IN LIMOUSIN BREEDERS' SALE.

HEIFER Goldies Farah went under the hammer for the top price of 28,000gns at the Limousin Cattle Society breeders' sale held at Carlisle's Borderway Mart.

The in-calf heifer, bred by Bruce Goldie, of Townfoot, Mouswald, Dumfries is out of the Goldies Terence-sired Goldies Bertha.

She has a beef value of LM+44, and was scanned in calf to Hartlaw Excaliber. She now joins the Lyonshall pedigree herd of NBJ Layton, based at Park Gate Farm, Lyonshall, Hereford. Overall, the sale grossed a mighty pounds 414,750, or pounds 4,557 per head for the 91 lots sold.
