HERTZ CLAIM MANAGEMENT ACQUIRES TWO MICHIGAN CLAIMS ADMINISTRATORS

 PARK RIDGE, N.J., April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Hertz Claim Management Corporation (HCM), the twelfth largest claims administrator in the country, today announced the purchase of the Michigan operations of Consolidated Risk Management Services, Inc. and Corporate Group Systems, Inc.
 The sale of both operations is effective immediately, with both organizations becoming part of Hertz Claim Management. Purchase prices were not disclosed.
 "These acquisitions mark HCM's entry into the Michigan marketplace," said Bill Gavin, vice president for HCM. "HCM is a nationwide company that is known for providing high-quality regionalized services with a strong emphasis on customer involvement. These new offices will allow us to provide services in Michigan and the surrounding area."
 With these acquisitions, HCM will have 117 employees in four offices servicing the Michigan marketplace. HCM has over 35 offices nationwide and employs over 1,500 people.
 Consolidated Risk Management Services, Inc. was a unit of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Virginia. The Michigan Offices administer Worker's Compensation, Group Health and Liability programs. In addition, Loss Control and Excess Insurance placement services are provided.
 Hertz plans to retain the employees working at CRMS's offices in Farmington Hills, Grand Rapids and Saginaw, Mich.
 Corporate Group Systems, Inc. was a unit of Alexander and Alexander of New York. HCM acquired their office in Livonia, Mich., which administers Group Health programs and provides Excess Insurance placement.
 "HCM is in a growth mode and looking for strategic acquisitions that fit our long term business needs," continued Mr. Gavin. "These acquisitions not only bring HCM into the Michigan marketplace, but strategically position the company to handle any possible changes in the law that may mandate `24 hour coverage.'"
 HCM annually manages approximately a billion dollars in claims. HCM is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Hertz Corporation. The Ford Motor Company owns 49 percent of The Hertz Corporation.
