HERSHEYPARK PERFORMERS TO HEADLINE WITH ROBERTA FLACK
 AT D.C. INDEPENDENCE DAY SHOW
HERSHEY, Pa., July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The entire cast of "Dance, Dance, Dance," the flagship show at Hersheypark(R) entertainment complex in Hershey, will headline with Grammy Award-winning vocalist Roberta Flack and the U.S. Navy Band at the National Park Service's Independence Day Celebration at the Washington Monument's Sylvan Theatre on Saturday, July 4, from 6 p.m. until 9:20 p.m.
The program will include a variety of popular and patriotic music, a special "Salute to Baseball" featuring selections from "Damn Yankees" and the Hersheypark song and dance tribute to famed American composers George and Ira Gershwin.
Celebrating its 13th season in Hersheypark, "Dance, Dance, Dance" is a love story told in the music of George Gershwin. A couple meets, goes on a date, gets married and goes on a honeymoon -- all to such Gershwin classics as "They Can't Take That Away From Me," "My One And Only," "Slap That Bass," and "S'Wonderful." A singing quartet accompanies the dance troupe. The show is 30 minutes long and runs in the Hersheypark Amphitheatre through Sept. 7.
Flack will perform her hits "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," "Killing Me Softly," and "In The Name of Love." Under the direction of Capt. William J. Phillips, the Navy Band, Sea Chanters, and Country Current country-bluegrass group will perform selections including "Battle Hymn of the Republic," "Come Follow The Band," and "Center Field."
The event is free and tickets are not required. Sylvan Theatre is located at 15th Street and Independence Avenue S.W. in Washington. Raindate is July 5.
With more than 50 rides and attractions, including four roller coasters, Hersheypark is celebrating "The Year of the Family" with a special $11.95 admission rate for children 3-8 and senior citizens ages 55 and over. For more information on Hersheypark call 800-HERSHEY.
