HERE we go again with the farcical New [...].

HERE we go again with the farcical New Year Honours List 2015 - farcical as it's often the wrong people who receive them.

There's Esther Rantzen being awarded a Damehood for services to Childline and The Silver Line - charities for the young and old respectively.

Hurrah for her, but there are lots of people in Teesside alone who have easily done as much work as she has for similar charities and not received so much as a thank you card.

I've nothing personal against Esther Rantzen, but it's so unfair that she is the one being honoured whilst others receive no recognition whatsoever.

It's a pity these mere mortals don't appear on TV like Ms Rantzen does and has done for years.

But TV celebrities they are not. No, they are just ordinary people.

Need I say more? KENNY SURTEES, Ormesby
