HEPPEL PROMOTED TO VICE PRESIDENT, LEGAL, FOR MOTION PICTURE GROUP OF PARAMOUNT

 HOLLYWOOD, April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Alan B. Heppel has been promoted to vice president, legal, for the Motion Picture Group of Paramount Pictures, it was announced today.
 In his new position, Heppel is responsible for providing legal advice for Paramount's motion picture marketing division, as well as working on the legal aspects of film production. He reports to Robert B. Cohen, senior vice president, legal, Motion Picture Group.
 "We're very pleased to recognize Alan's contributions to the group with this promotion, and look forward to continuing to benefit from his expertise," Cohen said.
 Previously, Heppel had been senior attorney for the group since 1987, overseeing production legal matters. He joined Paramount in 1985 as an attorney in the Motion Picture Group.
 Prior to that, Heppel was an associate in entertainment law at Haldeman & Peckerman from 1983-1985. Before that, he was a litigation associate for two years at the law firm of Rosenfeld, Meyer & Susman, where he specialized in copyright and entertainment industry matters.
 Heppel began his legal career as an intern on the domestic policy staff of the White House. He holds a juris doctor degree from Stanford Law School. He received a masters of philosophy and a master of arts in American studies from Yale University, a master of arts in British history from the University of Sussex, England, and an A.B. in American history and literature from Harvard University.
