HENLEY PROPERTIES SELECTS THE GREEN COMPANY AS DEVELOPMENT PARTNER
HAMPTON, N.H., May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The Green Company, Inc., of Newton Center, Mass., creator of distinctive residential communities for more than a quarter-century, has been selected as development partner and manager for Wentworth By The Sea by Henley Properties Inc. (NASDAQ: HENP).
"We are delighted that The Green Company is bringing its expertise, prestige and teamwork to Wentworth By The Sea," Michael D. Dingman, chairman and chief executive officer of Henley Properties, said. "The Green Company's sensitivity to esthetic and environmental considerations, as well as its construction and management skills and market awareness, are expected to be compatible with the needs and aspirations of the community."
Among the many successful Massachusetts communities created, marketed and managed by The Green Company are: The Belmont in West Harwich; Great Harbors, Falmouth Port, Tree Tops and The Boatyard in Falmouth; Holly Point in Barnstable; The Gables in Newton and The Meadows in Hingham.
Under construction by Green are The Ledges in Winchester, The Hills at Mainstone, Glen Oak in Wayland and Kings Way in Yarmouthport. Communities created by Green have received numerous awards from national environmental and professional groups. The company operates two golf courses and other recreational facilities.
"We do not consider ourselves builders or developers, but creators of environments," says Alan J. Green, founder and chairman of The Green Company, "environments in which people choose to live." The company stresses comprehensive land evaluation to determine where homes should be built and where land should be preserved.
Wentworth President and General Manager Walter Mountford will continue in his present capacity during the transition, after which he will return to The Koll Company, a leading West Coast real estate company. New Port Beach, Calif.-based Koll manages Henley Properties' projects in Southern California.
The 275-acre Wentworth property, in New Castle and Rye, N.H., includes an 18-hole links golf course, a 170-slip, state-of-the-art marina, restaurants and a proposed residential development.
