HEMDALE COMMUNICATIONS ACQUIRES FAMILY ADVENTURE 'SAVAGE LAND,' STARRING CORBIN BERNSEN AND GRAHAM GREENE
National Theatrical Release Set for February 1994 LOS ANGELES, Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Hemdale Communications Inc.
(NASDAQ: HEMD) has acquired all worldwide distribution rights to "Savage Land," a new family western adventure starring Corbin Bernsen and Graham Greene, it was announced by Tom Ortenberg, president of Theatrical Distribution and Marketing. Vivian Schilling, Martin Kove, Bo Svenson, Brion James and Charlotte Ross also star.
"Savage Land" was produced and directed by Dean Hamilton, who also wrote the screenplay. The film was acquired from Savage Land Productions Ltd. and Motion Picture Village. "Savage Land" is the first of three motion pictures to be made by the joint Calgary-based production companies. Set in 1870 during the mass exodus of pioneers searching for a better life out west, "Savage Land" tells the inspiring story of a family who must fight for survival after their stagecoach is ambushed by bandits. Hemdale Communications will release "Savage Land" theatrically in February 1994 as part of the company's upcoming slate which includes the animated children's feature "The Princess and The Goblin."
