A report reveals five-year-olds are the most stressful age for parents to deal with. Which is great news, my youngest son having just turned.... five.
It's the age where your little baby believes they are old enough to accomplish anything most definitely without any assistance at all, ever.
"I'll help," are words to strike terror into the parent of any five-year-old.
In the past week my five-year-old has demonstrated his independence by single-handedly decorating the Christmas tree. This involved hurling himself on to it from the windowsill while brandishing baubles.
He also peeled a pan of potatoes. I can confirm slices of fingertip certainly add texture to mash.
And then there was unblocking the toilet Stressful? Only the thought that one day soon he might grow up...
