HELIOS UNVEILS TEXTPAD 4.0 TEXT EDITOR FOR WINDOWS.
Programmers will appreciate the color syntax highlighting for C/C++, HTML and Java, as well as free add-ons for Perl, AutoLisp, Pascal and many other languages. You can create document classes, associate file names with them, and define different parameters (such as font, color or tab stops) for each document class. There is an unlimited undo/redo capability.
Combinations of commands can be saved as keystroke macros and replayed with hot-keys. TextPad supports fixed and proportional fonts, as well as double-byte character sets for Asian languages. You can view binary files in hexadecimal format.
In addition to English, TextPad comes with French, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish and Russian user interfaces. Free dictionaries for the spelling checker are available in 13 languages, plus English legal and medical terms. TextPad's toolbars are customizable. In-context help is available for all commands, and right mouse button clicks pop up in-context menus.
Other features new to version 4.0 include variable tab stops, file locking, unlimited file sizes and line lengths, and drag selection by word, line and paragraph.
Whether you're looking for a replacement for the limited text editor that comes with Windows, or a programming tool that will make your next coding job easier, TextPad is an easy-to-learn powerhouse.
