HEFTEL BROADCASTING COMPLETES MIAMI ACQUISITION

LAS VEGAS, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Heftel Broadcasting Corp., HBC, a Delaware corporation (Nasdaq: HBCCA), today announced completion of the previously announced acquisition of the interest in its Miami radio stations WAQI-AM and WRTO-FM held by Mambisa Broadcasting Corp., a Florida corporation.

HBC, which owned approximately one half of the radio stations, acquired the remaining half for approximately $19.8 million and will assume the management of the stations.

Carl Parmer, HBC president, said "We are pleased to have completed this acquisition. We believe this solidifies our strategic position in the very important Spanish radio market in South Florida."

Amancio Victor Suarez, Chairman of Mambisa Broadcasting Corp., said: "We founded and grew these very successful stations in the South Florida Spanish market with the help of our on-the-air personalities and employees. We believe that Heftel Broadcasting has the right strategy in the Spanish market in the United States and, in this period of consolidation in our industry, we felt that Heftel was the right home for our stations and our on-the-air personalities and employees." Suarez also said that he would continue in the media business in South Florida by continuing to own and publish Viva Semanal.

Luis Diaz-Albertini has been appointed as General Manager of the four radio stations. Diaz-Albertini has a great deal of experience in both the Spanish and the general market radio industry.
