HEATING MAKING A RACKET.

My central heating system, new two years ago, makes ticking and tapping noises when first starting up. I can understand slight clicking due to expansion but these noises are different. The noise is not at the boiler, but on certain radiators at the front of the house.

It could be the pipes rubbing against floor joists where they have been cut, or unclipped/ unsupported runs of plastic pipes. You may also have sludge build-up. If it persists after bleeding the radiator, call an engineer to check for sludge and if that's the problem he can flush through a cleanser and then a corrosion inhibitor.
