HEARx TO PROVIDE HEARING CARE SERVICES TO AARP MEMBERS
 WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Paul A. Brown, M.D.,

chairman of HEARx Ltd. (NASDAQ OTC Bulletin Board: EARS) announced today that HEARx has reached agreement with AARP Pharmacy Service to make available a pilot program of hearing care services to the members of AARP in Tampa/St. Petersburg, Fla., and Portland, Ore. HEARx will establish a walk-in Hearing Care Center at the AARP Pharmacy in each of the two cities. Currently, AARP Pharmacy Service operates a pharmacy in 13 locations.
Dr. Brown stated that AARP members in those areas will be offered an opportunity on a walk-in basis not only to purchase hearing aides and various assistive listening devices for the hearing impaired, but, in addition will be able to receive diagnostic procedures related to the ear that have been requested by their personal physician. Dr. Brown pointed out that national statistics prepared by the U.S. government reveal that 25 percent of the population over the age of 60 is hearing impaired. Based on patient demography, he cited that AARP members nationwide are purchasing approximately $300 million of hearing aids annually.
HEARx Ltd., the nation's largest network of independent auditory- vestibular-rehabilitative centers, has comprehensive state-of-the art facilities offering a full range of diagnostic and rehabilitative services, and currently operates 27 locations in New York, Florida and Georgia.
