HEALY, FORMERLY HEAD OF NIH, TO REJOIN BOARD OF MEDTRONIC, INC.
MINNEAPOLIS, July 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Medtronic, Inc. (NYSE: MDT), announced today that Bernadine P. Healy, M.D., former director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), has been elected to rejoin Medtronic's board of directors. Healy, then chairman of the Research Institute of the Cleveland Clinic, served on the Medtronic board from 1987 to 1991 when she resigned to head NIH. Since leaving NIH in June, she has joined The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. A cardiologist, Healy is a past president of the American Heart Association.
