    HEALTHSOUTH OPENS FIVE NEW OUTPATIENT REHABILITATION FACILITIES
    BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- HEALTHSOUTH Rehabilitation Corporation (NYSE: HRC) announced the opening of five new outpatient facilities in four states.
    In Phoenix, HEALTHSOUTH Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation joins two other Arizona facilities; HEALTHSOUTH Rehabilitation Center of Virginia Beach and HEALTHSOUTH Rehabilitation Center of Alexandria are the second and third Virginia facilities; HEALTHSOUTH Rehabilitation Center of Columbia is the fourth facility in Missouri; and HEALTHSOUTH Rehabilitation Center of Green Bay marks the company's first venture into Wisconsin.
    "These five new rehabilitation centers join existing HEALTHSOUTH outpatient facilities in 24 states," said Richard M. Scrushy, HEALTHSOUTH's chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer.
    All five centers specialize in sports medicine, spine rehabilitation, and industrial medicine.  The new locations will also provide sports event coverage at local high schools and colleges, with the Phoenix center working with the Phoenix Suns National Basketball Association franchise.
    During 1991, the company has opened 11 new outpatient facilities and one new rehabilitation hospital, and broken ground for a new rehab hospital and for a replacement rehab hospital.
    With nearly 4,000 employees in 24 states, Birmingham, Ala.-based HEALTHSOUTH is considered one of the nation's leading independent providers of health and rehabilitation services.
