 AND EARNINGS GROWTH IN 1992
 BIRMINGHAM, Ala., June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- At the recent annual meeting of stockholders of HEALTHSOUTH Rehabilitation Corporation (NYSE: HRC), held on June 17 at the company's corporate offices in Birmingham, Ala., the incumbent board of directors was re-elected by an overwhelming majority of the outstanding shares voted.
 Stockholders also approved the company's 1991 Stock Option Plan.
 Re-elected to the board are Richard M. Scrushy; C. Sage Givens; Charles W. Newhall III; George H. Strong; Phillip C. Watkins, M.D.; Allan R. Goldstein, M.D. and Richard F. Celeste.
 In remarks made to the stockholders present at the meeting, Scrushy, chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer, reviewed the company's performance in 1991 and year-to-date in 1992. Scrushy stated that as of June, the company had opened 12 new outpatient centers and acquired two hospitals. With the results of the first quarter and two-thirds of the second quarter completed, he felt that HEALTHSOUTH would experience significant revenues and earnings growth for 1992. Scrushy stated that the 1992 revenue and earnings are on track with projections made by various industry analysts. He further stated that HEALTHSOUTH was in very strong financial shape with more than $100 million in cash and a strong balance sheet. The company has available to it a $250 million bank line of credit with six major banks. With this strong balance sheet and bank financing in place, the company expects to continue its strong growth pattern.
 HEALTHSOUTH is one of the nation's largest providers of rehabilitative healthcare services. Through its three operating divisions, HEALTHSOUTH Medical Centers, HEALTHSOUTH Rehabilitation Hospitals and HEALTHSOUTH Outpatient Centers, the company operates a network of more than 120 locations in 27 states.
