HEALTHDYNE ANNOUNCES THIRD QUARTER EXPECTATIONS FOR HOME OBSTETRICAL CARE SUBSIDIARY

 MARIETTA, Ga., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Healthdyne, Inc. (NASDAQ: HDYN), in response to questions which have arisen as a result of a recent press release concerning a competitor's prediction of a loss for the third quarter, announced today that its home obstetrical care subsidiary, Healthdyne Perinatal Services, expects to report an operating profit for the 1993 third quarter.
 According to Parker H. Petit, chairman and CEO of Healthdyne, "Healthdyne Perinatal Services' patient census, which is traditionally soft during the summer months, is better than expected."
 Healthdyne is a national provider of high technology home care medical services, including infusion therapy through Home Nutritional Services and home obstetrical care through Healthdyne Perinatal Services, and a manufacturer of high tech home care products through Healthdyne Technologies.
