HEALTH IMAGE MEDIA BOARD ISSUES STATEMENT

WESTPORT, Conn., March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The following press release is being issued by the board of directors of Health Image Media, Inc. (NASDAQ: RXRX) to correct and provide additional information which the board of directors believes should be considered in light of a press release issued by management of the company on March 2, 1993:
Health Image Media, Inc. announced that the number of ad pages for the currently proposed April-May issue of its RxRemedy Magazine has increased to 12 pages for the proposed 48 page issue compared to 4 to 5 advertising pages in the previous two issues, each of which had a total of 44 pages. Although sales orders for advertising space for the proposed April-May issue have increased compared to prior issues, revenues to be derived from publication of the proposed April-May issue will be substantially below the company's costs in publishing, printing and mailing the issue.
The increase in the number of ad pages for the proposed April-May issue is expected to result in an increase in revenues for this issue compared to prior issues; however, revenues associated with these ad pages are booked as revenues only when the issue is published.
The revenues generated to date from the company's magazine, and contemplated to be generated by the proposed April-May issue, have been below the company's expectations, and the company recognizes that total costs and expenses relating to the publication of the magazine likely will continue to outpace revenues from advertising sales for some time. Although the company has taken certain steps which it believes will help to reduce expenses and preserve its cash resources, there can be no assurance that the company will ever be able to generate sufficient revenues from the magazine to sustain the costs to justify continued publication.
