 HEALTH ALLIANCE PLAN EXPANDS PROVIDER NETWORK
 DETROIT, June 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Health Alliance Plan (HAP) expanded


its provider network with a contractual arrangement effective July 1.
 The contract between HAP, St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Pontiac; and Mercy Physician Hospital Organization (MPHO) is designed to serve north Oakland County residents.
 "We are proud to be affiliated with MPHO and St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Pontiac," said John Breitmeyer, HAP vice president of marketing. "We look forward to providing north Oakland County residents with quality health-care services our members have come to expect and receive from all of our affiliated physicians and hospitals."
 "We are pleased with the managed care partnership with Health Alliance Plan," said Mike Porwal, MPHO executive director. "This relationship will benefit HAP members in Oakland County."
 HAP, Michigan's largest managed health-care plan, serves more than 400,000 members. St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, a 528-bed acute-care, community-based hospital, serves more than a million people in Oakland County and surrounding areas. MPHO, a nonprofit organization of physicians on staff at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, includes more than 110 participating primary and specialty care doctors.
