18 September 2017 - Nebraska, US-based construction services provider HDR has acquired Colorado, US-based fleet operations and maintenance facilities designer Maintenance Design Group (MDG) to expand operations and services in the fleet industry, the company said.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

MDG will do business as HDR | Maintenance Design Group. HDR said through the acquisition of MDG, it plans to take advantage of growth opportunities in the operations and maintenance facilities market. MDG's strengths in facility planning and design complement HDR's asset life-cycle approach to infrastructure development.

MDG and HDR have collaborated on projects including the Sun Link streetcar in Arizona and the Kansas streetcar.

MDG said with the transaction it can serve new clients and offers a wider range of services.

HDR has 10,000 employees, in more than 225 locations around the world, offering engineering, architecture, environmental and construction services.

Maintenance Design Group designs bus and rail facilities. The firm employs close to 40 professionals in offices in Colorado, California, Minnesota, Texas, Maryland and Tennessee, US.
