 HAZELTINE SELECTED FOR F-16 IFF CONTRACT
 ST. LOUIS, Dec. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Hazeltine Corporation, a


subsidiary of ESCO Electronics Corporation (NYSE: ESE), announced today that it has been selected by General Dynamics Corporation/Fort Worth division to provide advanced identification friend/foe combined interrogator/transponders (AIFF-CIT) for the F-16 mid-life update program sponsored by NATO. The award of this contract to Hazeltine is expected to be finalized in January 1992 and result in equipment deliveries extending over several years.
 Hazeltine has led the evolution of IFF technology since 1941, when it originated the first U.S. IFF system for use in World War II. Currently, Hazeltine produces the AN/APX-111 combined interrogator/ transponder (CIT) for the F/A-18 aircraft. The selection of Hazeltine for the F-16 mid-life update program positions the company as the supplier of leading technology IFF systems on the world's two premier fighter aircraft.
