HAYA WATER SHUTS TWO SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANTS IN MADINAT AS SULTAN QABOOS, SHATTI AL QURUM.

Haya Water has shut down the two sewage treatment plants (STP) in Madinat as Sultan Qaboos (7500m3/day) and diverted the wastewater from them to Al Anasb STP.

This step has been carried out after the completion of several major projects, including the main wastewater line project in the wilayat of Bausher. This line is 25km long starting from Hamriya roundabout till the intersection of the health centre in Ghubra.

The completion and operation of this main sewer pipeline has contributed to connecting the areas of Qurm and Madinat al Ilam to the wastewater network which consists of 104km wastewater pipelines and 19 lifting and pumping stations, as well as connecting the existing wastewater network in Shatti al Qurum near the Sarooj area.

As a result, 12 lifting and pumping stations in the area were shut down along with the Shatti al Qurum STP.

The company has also connected the wastewater network in Madinat as Sultan Qaboos with the main sewer line in the wilayat of Bausher.

The main sewer line in Bausher (eastern sector) is connected to the wastewater networks on both sides of Sultan Qaboos Street starting from Hamriya roundabout to Azaiba area. The wastewater flows through this line into an initial sewage collection area and then transferred to the main pumping station in Azaiba, which then pumps the wastewater to Al Ansab STP.

The main pumping station in Azaiba, the first phase of which was constructed in 2010 with a capacity of 5,400m3/hour, is currently witnessing the implementation of the second phase to expand its operational capacity to 10,800m3/hour.

This station is located in the centre of Bausher and connected to another main sewer line that was constructed under the main project (C-2) for the western sector of the main line. This line is about 19km long starting from the borders between Seeb and Bausher to the main pumping station in Azaiba.
