 HAWAII ENACTS PERMANENT H2S REGULATIONS
PORTLAND, Ore., June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- OESI Power Corp.

(NASDAQ: OESI) announced that on June 19, the governor of the state of Hawaii had approved regulations establishing a new statewide standard of H2S emissions. These regulations are scheduled to become effective on June 29 following a mandatory 10-day waiting period. The company anticipates that Puna Geothermal Venture ("PGV") will meet the new standard and its H2S emissions permit will be reissued.
PGV (a 51 percent-owned joint venture of OESI) expects to resume drilling activities, commencing with the completion of the KS-8 well, following the 10-day waiting period and reissuance of its existing H2S emissions permit. The company anticipates that shortly after successful completion of the KS-8 well, PGV will begin generating commercial quantities of electricity.
OESI acquires, develops, operates and sells interest in geothermal power plants in the western United States, Alaska and Hawaii.
