HARSCO GETS NATURAL GAS FUEL TANK ORDER

HARSCO GETS NATURAL GAS FUEL TANK ORDER
HARRISBURG, Pa., June 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Harsco Corporation

(NYSE: HSC) announced today its Structural Composites Industries (SCI) has been selected to provide lightweight Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) fuel tanks for 75 new transit buses that are to serve Sacramento, Calif.
Valued in excess of $1 million, the order reinforces SCI's role as a major producer of compressed natural gas fuel tanks for motor vehicles.
In addition to the new award, SCI is also producing lightweight NGV fuel tanks for transit buses which will operate in Tacoma, Wash.; Reading, Pa.; Binghamton, N.Y.; and Salt Lake City. NGV transit buses are an important part of the nation's environmental policy effort to reduce air pollution since natural gas burns significantly cleaner than diesel and methanol fuels.
A unit of the Plant City Steel Division, Harsco's specialist in gas control and containment, SCI designs and manufactures a diverse line of composite filament wound pressure vessels. Their light weight combined with high strength make the vessels ideal for use in the self-contained breathing apparatus worn by fire fighters, portable oxygen systems for home therapy, as the inflation device for aircraft escape slides and in various spaceflight applications. In addition to its SCI operation, Plant City Steel's product range includes propane tanks, high-pressure steel cylinders and cryogenic vessels.
Harsco Corporation is a diversified, international, industrial company headquartered in Camp Hill, Pa. The company's 11 divisions provide products and services for defense, industrial, commercial and construction applications from more than 260 facilities in 32 states and 14 countries.
