HARSCO ELECTS NEW SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT-FINANCE

HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 19 ~PRNewswire~ -- Malcolm W. Gambill, chairman and chief executive officer of Harsco Corporation (NYSE: HSC) announced today that the company's board of directors elected Leonard A. Campanaro senior vice president-finance, effective Dec. 1, 1992.
He succeeds George F. Rezich, who retired earlier this year.
Currently, Campanaro is vice president and controller at Harsco, a position he assumed upon the retirement of Leroy W. Brick this past April. His previous three years were spent as vice president and controller at the BMY-Wheeled Vehicles Division in Marysville, Ohio. Prior to that, he served three years as vice president and general manager in charge of the large Taylor-Wharton Cryogenics operation at Theodore, Ala. Earlier assignments with Harsco included vice president and controller of the Taylor-Wharton Division and director of auditing at Harsco. Prior to joining Harsco in 1980, he held management positions with Touche Ross and Company in Philadelphia and Harrisburg. Campanaro holds a B.B.A. in accounting from Temple University and is a CPA. He served for two years as a finance officer in the U.S. Army.
In making the announcement, Gambill noted:
"Throughout his career at Harsco, Len Campanaro has been given difficult and demanding assignments which he has carried out in an exemplary manner. His experience at corporate headquarters and at various divisions, in financial and operational roles, has provided him with an extensive commercial and defense industry background as well as invaluable knowledge of Harsco. This, together with his financial expertise, makes Len extremely well qualified to assume this position. We have a long tradition of very capable financial management, which will most certainly continue under Len Campanaro's leadership."
Harsco Corporation is a diversified, international, industrial company headquartered in Camp Hill, Pa. The company's 11 divisions provide products and services for defense, industrial, commercial and construction applications from over 260 facilities in 36 states and 13 countries.
