HARRIS OFFERS PLATFORM FOR MULTI-PROTOCOLS.

Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), a leading software developer and provider of communication solutions, has introduced its Harris Network Management (HNM) platform to the European market.

HNM, which enables service providers to manage any network with diverse equipment and communication protocols, will provide wireline and wireless service providers a multi-module, rapidly deployable, management software with the lowest cost of ownership in the industry.

HNM is an advanced software platform specifically designed to manage complex multi-protocol, multi-vendor communications infrastructures and offers its users a single network management capability for real-time network monitoring, more detailed trouble reporting information, and quicker service response times.

Networks that combine communication technologies -- such as fiber, microwave, satellite, environmental, switching or data communications--can use HNM to monitor all network elements, consolidate network management functions, and view network elements remotely. By using HNM, service providers can reduce operational staff and budget.

As an option, Harris is offering its Performance Manager Application (PMA) module for HNM. Designed for use with wireless and wireline based technologies, PMA enables both interactive and off-line analysis of network performance. It also allows service providers to support new network elements quickly, as they are added; develop new network applications; and integrate with network, service, or business management applications.

"With networks built with an array of equipment from various vendors, HNM is the ideal management software for efficient network management," said Jim Odom, vice president of network management for Harris' Communications Products Division. "The deregulated European market has required companies like Harris to create management products that can communicate in all networks. HNM answers that requirement."

Harris Network Management is provided by Harris' Communications Products Division (CPD), which delivers solutions to public and private communications service providers around the world. CPD's solutions include call center, network switching and enhanced services products, line test and network management systems, as well as test sets and tools.

Harris Corporation is a leading global communications equipment company with an array of wireless, test and measurement and carrier provisioning products and services for the commercial and government markets. The company has 16 manufacturing operations in the U.S., Canada, China, Brazil, U.K., and France, and sales and service facilities in 90 countries.
