HARRIS NAMES THOMAS J. ERDMANN TO HEAD DRACON DIVISION

 MELBOURNE, Fla., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS) has appointed Thomas J. Erdmann vice president-general manager of the company's Dracon Division, headquartered in Camarillo, Calif. He succeeds Merle J. Ackerman, who has retired.
 Erdmann previously was vice president-marketing and sales, and Telcom Business Unit manager at Dracon. He joined the division in 1983 as a product manager and has held positions of increasing responsibility including national sales manager, and director and vice president of sales.
 Prior to joining Harris, Erdmann held marketing positions at Stolper Industries, Reliance Telecom, and Johnson Wax.
 Erdmann also served as a major in the U.S. Army. He has a bachelor's degree in engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin.

The division is an industry leader in telecommunication products and systems used by telephone companies worldwide for construction, installation, maintenance, testing, monitoring, and management of telephone subscriber loops, and also is a leading supplier of voice-paging products.
