DESCRIBE YOUR BUSINESS: We produce a tonal-vibration compact disc called ``The Healing Disc.'' It's an original collection of tonal vibrations specifically designed to enhance your body's innate healing abilities. The Healing Disc's unique concept is based on the theory and knowledge that all life systems have their own rhythmic balance.
IS THIS YOUR FIRST BUSINESS? No
WHY DID YOU START THIS BUSINESS? We saw the need for an inexpensive means of helping people to use the natural healing abilities of the body.
WHERE DID YOU GET THE IDEA? Hoffman, a musicologist, had noticed that while mixing sounds, people experienced many different physiological changes. Kavitky has worked for years with the alpha wave therapy in addition to healing with color vibrations.
HOW LONG WAS IT FROM CONCEPT TO OPENING? The idea began in 1996.
WHAT DID YOU DO DURING THAT TIME? A lot of research and development.
WHAT WERE YOUR STARTUP COSTS AND HOW DID YOU FINANCE THE BUSINESS? $50,000 from personal savings.
WHO DID YOU RELY ON FOR ADVICE? Published books on the physics of healing through vibration, years of knowledge with healing through color and crystal therapy. Long experimentation with alpha waves and biofeedback testing.
WHAT HADN'T YOU CONSIDERED BEFORE OPENING? Just how long it would take with the research and development, as well as the right packaging for the product.
WHAT IS YOUR EXPECTED REVENUE THIS YEAR? Undetermined.
WHAT GOALS DO YOU HAVE FOR THE COMPANY? We're in the process of developing other CDs for specific targeted areas, i.e., one for the sports enthusiast for a natural approach for top performance, enhancing the cardiovascular systems and pulmonary system and one for sexual dysfunction.
