HARMAN INTERNATIONAL INDUSTRIES, INC. SAYS CALIFORNIA PLANT HIT BY EARTHQUAKE

WASHINGTON, Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Harman International Industries (NYSE: HAR) issued the following:
"The Harman International Northridge Business Campus was somewhat damaged by the earthquake which struck Los Angeles early today," said Bernie Girod, Chief Operating Officer, he continued:
"The good news is that no one was injured and subject to a formal review by structural engineers, there appears to be no significant damage. Papers, fallen cabinets and interior ceilings make things look worse than they probably are. Nearly all equipment appears undamaged.
"We are cleaning up those areas that are clearly free of structural damage. If we can get power and phones in service, we are arranged to move quickly to complete the job. Our finished goods warehouse at Rancho Cucamunga, California appears unaffected and is fully operational. The Infinity building in Chatsworth, California also appears undamaged.
"We will issue regular updates until all operations are back in order."
