HARKEN COMMENCES DRILLING IN BAHRAIN DALLAS, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Harken Energy Corporation ("Harken")
(AMEX: HEC) of Dallas today announced that Deutag Drilling of Germany has today begun the drilling of Harken's initial exploratory test well, the Jarim No. 2, offshore Bahrain under Harken's exclusive Production Sharing Agreement with the Bahrain National Oil Company.
Drilling to the total depth of 14,500 feet is projected to require 90 days and will be immediately followed by a 30 day testing period of any hydrocarbon-bearing zones. The major formations to be tested include the Jurassic Arab formation at approximately 7,300 feet and the Permian Khuff formation at approximately 13,300 feet. Harken Energy Corporation explores for, develops and produces oil and gas reserves domestically and internationally.
