 HANNA SIGNS TENTATIVE AGREEMENT TO ACQUIRE GLOBAL PROCESSING
 CLEVELAND, July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- M.A. Hanna Company (NYSE/MSE: MAH) has announced a tentative agreement to acquire Global Processing Company, a specialty rubber compounder located in Santa Fe Springs, Calif.. Terms of the agreement, which is subject to approval by the Hanna board of directors, were not disclosed.
 Founded in 1980, Global is one of the leading fluoroelastomer compounders in the United States. It has 50 associates and sales of $8 million. Fred Williams, owner and president, will remain employed with Global after the acquisition, which is expected to close in the fourth quarter. Global will become a part of the Burton Rubber Processing business unit of M.A. Hanna.
 Hanna chairman and chief executive officer Martin D. Walker said, "Global is attractive to Hanna for three reasons. First, it broadens our geographic coverage by providing a compounding presence on the west coast. Second, it raises our technology level by expanding Burton's capability in fluoroelastomer compounding. Third, Global is a high quality supplier, commensurate with the Hanna reputation for quality and service."
