HANNA ELECTS MANN TO BOARD CLEVELAND, Nov. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The M.A. Hanna Company
(NYSE/MSE: MAH) today announced the election of Marvin L. Mann, chairman and chief executive officer of Lexmark International, Inc., to its board of directors. Lexmark, headquartered in Greenwich, Conn., was organized in 1991 to purchase from IBM its computer workstation printers, typewriters, keyboards and related supplies businesses.
Prior to joining Lexmark, Mann was chief executive officer of the IBM Information Products Corporation, a subsidiary of IBM and the predecessor to the new company. Mann had been associated with IBM since 1958, serving in various administrative positions until 1979 when he was named vice president plans and controls for IBM's Systems Communications Division. In 1982, Mann was named vice president of the typewriter business area in the Information Products Division, and in 1984, vice president and general manager of the Lexington Products Business Unit. Later that year, he became president and chief executive officer of Satellite Business Systems. He was elected an IBM corporate vice president in 1985. In 1986, Mann was named president of the Information Products Division and chairman of two business unit committees and in 1989, president of the Services Sector Division. Mann holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and economics from Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama, and a master's degree in marketing and economics from the University of Alabama, Birmingham. Mann is a director of INFOMART, a Trammell Crow Co. He also is a member of the University of Alabama President's Cabinet and the College of Commerce and Business Administration Board of Visitors. The election of Mann brings to eleven the number of directors on the Hanna Board. M. A.
