HANDLEMAN COMPANY PROMOTES THOMAS LENAGHAN TO REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT/SALES

 TROY, Mich., Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Handleman Company (NYSE: HDL), the country's largest mass merchandiser of home entertainment products, announced the promotion of Thomas J. Lenaghan to the newly created position of regional vice president/Sales. Lenaghan will be responsible for supervising account executives in the eastern United States. He has been with Handleman for nine years, most recently as director/New Business Development for the company's Holly Division.
 Handleman Company, with sales in excess of $1 billion, is the largest specialty merchandiser of home entertainment products to mass merchants in North America. Products include pre-recorded music, pre- recorded videos, books and home computer software. The company's 4,000 employees service approximately 22,000 retail departments from distribution facilities located in the United States and Canada.
