HALLIBURTON COMPANY ANNOUNCES SAUDI ARAMCO 3D SEISMIC AWARD

 DALLAS, Dec. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Halliburton Company (NYSE: HAL) announced today that Geophysical Service, Inc. Saudi Arabia Ltd., a subsidiary of Halliburton Geophysical Services, Inc. has been awarded a contract by SAUDI ARAMCO for two large land 3D seismic crews. The award was made for a minimum term of three years with an option of two additional years.
 These two crews will be utilized for field development purposes, using the latest HGS 1000 channel 24-bit VISION recording instruments with integrated quality control/assurance capabilities. In addition, new technology Sensor SM-4 LD supergeophones will be used to ensure superior dynamic resolution is obtained with the 24-bit recorded data.
 This total systems concept is designed to provide the optimum balance between quality, reliability and productivity, resulting in significantly reduced cycle time for 3D Data Acquisition and Processing.
 Deployment of these crews will take place in 1993 in the desert environment of Saudi Arabia. Seismic work will commence with drill/dynamite as the source and will continue with vibroseis.
 High standards of environmental protection and safety will be observed and major emphasis on logistical support via truck-convoy and aircraft will be required.
