 HALLIBURTON ANNOUNCES FORMATION OF OFFICE OF THE CHAIRMAN
 DALLAS, May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Halliburton Company (NYSE: HAL) announced today the formation of the office of the chairman, headed by Thomas H. Cruikshank, chairman of the board and chief executive officer. Effective June 1, 1992 Dale P. Jones, president of the company, and W. Bernard (Ber) Pieper, who has been named vice chairman of Halliburton, will report to Cruikshank as members of the newly created office. Pieper was previously president and chief executive officer of the Company's Brown & Root subsidiary.
 Cruikshank and Jones will jointly focus on developing global business opportunities for the company and its subsidiaries. The company's Energy Services Group and its Engineering and Construction Group will now report directly to Dale Jones, who will also be responsible for the company's environmental programs and investor relations activities.
 Halliburton Company's corporate office and internal activities, such as finance, legal and human resources, will report to Pieper. He will also be responsible for quality improvement programs, strategic planning and organizational development activities for the entire Halliburton organization.
 Tommy E. Knight, 53, has been named to succeed Pieper as president and chief executive officer of Brown & Root. He has 28 years of engineering and construction experience with Brown & Root. During his career he has had extensive international experience including resident engineering responsibilities in Japan, Singapore and Australia. Knight most recently has served Brown & Root as executive vice president - operations since 1990. Knight holds a bachelor of science and a master of engineering degree from Texas A&M University.
 Dale Jones, 55, joined Halliburton Company in 1965 and has served in a number of financial and operating executive positions with Halliburton and its subsidiaries during his 27 year career.
 Since 1990 Jones has been president of Halliburton Company. He is a member of the Company's executive committee and its board of directors.
 Jones received a B.S. degree from the University of Arkansas. He is currently chairman of the Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association and vice chairman of the National Ocean Industries Association. Jones is also a director of the American Petroleum Institute, the National Association of Manufacturers and the National Foreign Trade Council. In addition, he is a member of the board of trustees of the Baylor University Medical Center and the Baptist Foundation of Texas.
 Ber Pieper, 59, is a 35 year employee of Brown & Root. During his career with Brown & Root he has served in a wide range of key engineering and operational management positions in the United States and abroad. Since 1990 Pieper has been president and chief executive officer of Brown & Root. He is also a member of the Halliburton Company executive committee.
 Pieper holds B.A. and B.S. degrees from Rice University. He is a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a board member of the Texas Association of Taxpayers and the Texas Research League. Pieper also serves on Rice University's George R. Brown School of Engineering Advisory Board and The Jones School of Administration Council of Overseers.
