HALL-HOUSTON ANNOUNCES RECENT GULF OF MEXICO GAS DISCOVERIES

HOUSTON, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Hall-Houston Oil Co. announced today two recent gas discoveries in the Gulf of Mexico offshore from Louisiana.
Hall-Houston drilled its initial well on Main Pass 129 in August 1993 from an existing platform and encountered 85 feet of net gas pay in multiple sands. This well, which was dually completed, and an existing well that was recompleted at the same time are currently producing approximately 16 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. The company owns 90 percent of the working interest in this lease.
The company has also recently drilled a second well on East Cameron 199 and suspended that well after encountering 47 feet of net gas pay in two zones. The initial discovery well on this prospect was drilled by Hall-Houston and suspended earlier in the year after encountering 68 feet of net gas pay in two other zones. A production platform and facilities are scheduled to be installed in the spring of 1994, with the wells to be completed and placed on production at that time. The company owns 58 percent of the working interest in this lease, with an additional 33.33 percent working interest owned by Global Natural Resources Corp.
Hall-Houston, headquartered in Houston, is a private company principally engaged in the exploration, development and production of oil and gas properties offshore in the Gulf of Mexico.
