HA-LO NAMES WALKER VICE PRESIDENT, KREMPELY SENIOR SALES REP-NATIONAL PROGRAMS

 NILES, Ill., June 16 /PRNewswire/ -- HA-LO Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: HALO), a leader in the distribution of specialty and premium advertising products, has named Darryl Walker, vice president, with responsibility for sales, customer service and new business development in California. He will be based in Irvine, Calif., and will oversee recruitment and training of account executives for the direct response sales efforts of HA-LO's recently opened office there.
 The company also announced that Philip Krempely has been appointed senior sales representative for national corporate fulfillment programs, with offices at HA-LO headquarters here.
 Walker, 50, previously was vice president and district manager of Jack Nadel Inc., where he opened and managed two high volume Southern California sales offices, trained and supervised more than 30 salesmen, and maintained a sales territory that generated more than $7 million in sales. During his 16 years with Jack Nadel, Walker also developed promotional campaigns and programs for local, regional and national customers and won numerous sales and marketing awards.
 From 1967 to 1977, Walker was a salesman and packaging designer for the Creative Packaging Division of Eli Lilly & Co., where he developed successful packaging promotions.
 Krempely, 43, joins HA-LO from Ideacraft Inc., a promotional merchandise and marketing services company. From 1990 to 1992, he was executive vice president and general manager of Carlson Promotional Merchandising, Inc., Minneapolis, Minn., where he was responsible for strategic planning, financial performance and national program sales for a $27 million business.
 During this 13 years with Carlson, Krempely held a variety of executive sales positions, including vice president/national sales manager and vice president/national account manager.
 Commenting on the appointments, HA-LO president and chief executive Lou Weisbach, said, "These experienced industry sales executives will help strengthen HA-LO's presence in the important California market, enhance our aggressive program to capture a greater share of the national corporate fulfillment business and accelerate our profitable growth."
