H's Steps to shaping up.
Ex-steps singer H has spilled his keep fit beans to the Roast as he wows the West End.
Ian Watkins is playing the lead role in Joseph and The Technicolor Dreamcoat in nothing but a loin cloth.
So the Rhondda boy had to shape up before he got semi-naked.
'I've lost a stone and a half in two months but am eating three times as much as I would have when I was with Steps,' says H, 28.
'Although I started training before my run here, it's the loin cloth that has been my incentive! There's been a lot of talk about my body. There's a lot of pressure on a bloke if you're dressed like this. It's easy enough to chuck on a t-shirt and hide in the corner, but with this, I've had to do my homework.'
And the showman, who follows in the footsteps of Jason Donovan, Donny Osmond and Phillip Schofield, is certainly putting in the hours for his year-long run on stage.
He said: 'I do a lot of yoga, a lot of cardio work and I'm using the gym loads. I eat maybe eight times a day with fat and protein in every meal. I'm an early riser and am up by half six or seven in the morning. Then I go to the gym and do yoga before going for breakfast. I'll maybe have six egg whites in an omelette or smoked salmon on toast.
'I weight-lift every other day and do cardio on the other day. I probably have about three protein shakes a day.
'I basically eat every two hours and am starving every night when I finish, particularly if I've been swimming. I generally do 'up' my carbs in the first part of the day and then cut them just before the show, because it's no good dancing on a full stomach.'
