Guy in the mix at Harwood Dale trial.

GUY Kendrew was among the front runners in Scarborough DMC's Harwood Dale trial.

The former Redcar Cubs speedway rider from Faceby, near Stokesley, enjoyed an excellent 2014, finishing fourth in the Scottish Six Day Trial at Fort William and lifting the Kart House Trophy and a Gold Spoon at Richmond DMC's Scott Trial.

And he's started off 2015 in good form too, finishing third in the expert class at Harwood Dale.

Dan Peace and Billy Bolt, both contenders in this year's British Trials Championship, led the way with some exciting riding.

Peace conquered the cold and sleet to take the Premier honours by just two marks from Bolt, with Kendrew third.

Fast improving Middlesbough rider Chris Brown was up against stiff opposition in the shape of Colin Bailey in the Clubman A class.

Bailey grabbed the win but Brown strung another good ride together to take the runner-up berth, only the difficult eighth hazard bothering him, where he lost six marks.

Steve Cornforth from Guisborough captured the Clubman B class win from riding mate Phil Manton.

Cornforth produced an unpenalised ride in very difficult conditions with a number of tricky sections.

Despite becoming a bit nervy and wobbling a bit towards the end of the event, Cornforth hung on to take a fantastic win from Manton with Yarm heating engineer John Bullen in fifth place just seven marks down.
