Gurney set to shine for Nottinghamshire; SPREADWISE.

CRICKET BUY the performance of Notts' left-arm quick Harry Gurney at 30 with Sporting Index in tonight's televised T20 Blast game at Leicestershire, writes Max Oram.

Notts have won their last five completed matches in the tournament and Gurney should be confident of getting among the wickets (20 points each on the scoring system) at Grace Road.

He is a former Foxes player so knows where to bowl at the venue depending on the prevailing conditions.

He is probably not that far from the England selectors' one-day thoughts, despite last playing an ODI 20 months ago in Sri Lanka, after taking 4-20 against Derbyshire to cap a fine June.

As well as that haul against the Falcons and 2-37 against Lancashire, he took 5-51 against Durham and 3-58 against Warwickshire for the Outlaws in the One-Day Cup last month.

Gurney also has a safe pair of hands in the field (ten points are awarded for each catch).
