Guinness Import Co. launches TV campaign.

The Guinness Import Co. has announced the first U.S. television advertising campaign for the Guinness Stout brand. The ads were created by Weiss, Whitten, Carroll, Stagliano, Inc., N.Y., and will highlight the brand's Pub Draught Guinness package.

The ad will feature the tag-line, "It's just like a keg, but easier to carry," and will feature a parody of a weight-lifter hoisting an actual keg, while an accountant hoists a Pub Draught Guinness can.

The television campaign will be launched initially in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Baltimore and Washington, D.C., and will be featured during local sports telecasts as well as on CBS Sports coverage of the Major League Baseball playoffs. The ad will also run during ESPN coverage of PGA Golf, TNT coverage of the NFL, CNN and in late night slots during the David Letterman program and the Tonight Show.
