Guilds elect officials.

Huddersfield Town Hall was the venue for the annual meeting of the West Yorkshire Federation of Towns- women's Guilds.

Retiring chairman Mrs Marjorie Neal presided at the event, attended by members from seven guilds in the Federation.

Annual reports were given by secretary Mrs Kathleen Brown and treasurer Mrs Sheila Lawton.

Mrs Rosie Scott from the Lindley Town Guild was elected Federation chairman.

Other officers elected were vice-chairman Mrs K Brown, secretary Mrs Margaret Watson and treasurer Mrs Marjorie Neal.

All are members of the Lindley Guild.

The Federation Cup was won by Almondbury Guild. It was presented to Mrs Wyn Ainley, a member of the bowls team.

Delegates from the Guilds will be attending the Townswomen's Guilds National Council meeting in Bournemouth in June.
