Guidance Software's new EnCase Cybersecurity software connector integrates to FireEyea[euro](tm)s Malware Protection System.
Provider of digital investigative solutions, Guidance Software Inc (NASDAQ:GUID), announced on Tuesday that its new software connector, which integrates its EnCase Cybersecurity incident response and data auditing software with FireEye Inc's Malware Protection System (MPS) to combat advanced malware threats, is now available.
Guidance Software said that when the FireEye MPS detects advanced malware on the network, it can immediately share information about the attack through the software connector with EnCase Cybersecurity. This begins an instant forensic collection and investigation of the end points that are the target of the malware, providing further information to IT security teams about the size and scope of infection via real-time endpoint data to remediate the malware.
The company added that the FireEye Malware Protection System (MPS) is a complete solution that stops advanced targeted attacks across the Web and e-mail threat vectors, as well as malware resident on file shares. The FireEye MPS Connector for EnCase Cybersecurity is available immediately and will be included in the EnCase Cybersecurity 5.1 SDK.
