A HI-TECH peeping Tom secretly filmed guests as they walked around naked at his luxury bed and breakfast retreat, a court heard yesterday.

Businessman Thomas Coping,58,of Glyn Deri,Talyllyn, near Brecon, rigged up secret spy holes in the bathroom of his guest house.

A judge at Merthyr Crown Court described him as a modern day peeping Tom after hearing he had filmed hundreds of guests in the bathroom.

Coping was given a three year rehabilitation order with the condition he attend a community sex offenders treatment programme.

The married father-of-two admitted eight charges of taking indecent pictures of children and two others of making indecent pictures of children.

The children involved ranged from a boy aged seven to two girls aged 10 and 11 at the time the photographs were taken.

Coping also asked for 19 other similar offences to be taken into account. The offences were carried out at the luxury Georgianstyle guest house attached to his village home between May 2001 and December 2002.

Prosecuting, Hilary Roberts said Coping was discovered after a group of guests became suspicious and decided to look in the guest house attic.

They discovered the hidden equipment and reported Coping to the police.
