Growth for city carriers.

TWO carriers at Liverpool John Lennon Airport announced healthy increases in passenger numbers for last month.

Last month, easyJet achieved a 7.6% rise in passengers to 6.56m, and a 0.7% increase in load factor, or the number of available seats sold, to 92.7%.

Its rolling 12-month total shows a 5.9% rise in passenger numbers to 67.1m and a 1.1% jump in load factor to 91.2%.

Meanwhile, Wizz Air saw passenger numbers rise by 18.2% to 1.73m, and load factor improve by 1.1% to 90.8%.

Its 12-month rolling total revealed a 19.4% increase in passengers to 17.3m and a 1.2% rise in load factor to 87.1%.
