Group names Busch industry Man of Year.

August Busch III, chairman and president of Anheuser-Busch Cos., Inc., recently was named the 1992 Man of the Year by the Christermom Foundation, a philanthropic organization composed of members of the beverage industry.

Busch was to receive the award at a dinner in his honor February 8 at the Century Plaza Hotel in Century City.

Under Busch's direction, the company has extended a commitment to quality that reaches to the community at large, a Christermom Foundation representative noted. In 1991, A-B and its charitable foundations contributed more than $25 million to non-profit organizations in a variety of fields. In California alone, the corporation and its charities contributed more than $14.8 million between 1985 and 1991.
