Group helps distribute used Indian textbooks.

Summary: The Indian Cultural Society and Bazm-e-Osmania Jeddah, by April 1, have distributed 14,000 books to needy students of Indian International School Jeddah (IISJ).

Arif Quraishi, president of the society, confirmed that the members have collected and distributed, over the period of a month, books to parents and students at Shadab restaurant, Aziziyah, on March 31-April 1. The society members put in time and efforts to collect, sort and arrange the donated textbooks according to syllabus and class. The books were given to those who approached the society and some of them even came from Makkah, Madinah, Taif and Yanbu for these books. Quraishi said that few sets of books are still remaining and parents can still avail the society's offer. This year, the president said, the society collected 18,000 books and some thousands were discarded as they were in a poor condition. Quraishi thanked the parents for their cooperation n donating books and was also grateful to the mini markets and restaurants around Aziziyah for providing space for the collection of these books. He also thanked the members of the society and Bazm for their sincere cooperation collecting, sorting and distributing the books.
