Group's show to bring theatre season to a close.

A Black Country theatre group is set to entertain audiences with a performance of comedy the Ladykillers this week.

Dudley Little Theatre will end their current season with the popular show at Netherton Arts Centre, in Northfield Road, from today until Saturday.

Adapted by Father Ted author Graham Lineham and based on the 1955 Ealing comedy starring Alec Guinness, the Ladykillers focuses on a disparate gang of hardened criminals who rent a room in the home of Mrs Wilberforce and from where they hatch a plan to execute a daring security van robbery at the nearby King's Cross Station.

A spokesman for Dudley Little Theatre said: "Mrs Wilberforce believes them to be musicians, a string quartet rehearsing in her upstairs room.

"Needless to say, things do not go quite as planned for the inept group of gangsters. While the discovery of their crime seems highly possible, they face a far worse threat when compelled to perform the Boccherini quartet for Mrs Wilberforce's twittering group of doddering old friends.

"The Ladykillers is a wonderfully lighthearted way to bring our 72nd season to a close."
