Groceries missing.

For the most part, we can get everything we need in the various groceries in Bahrain. However, there are shortages from time to time.

Red Tabasco sauce was not available for a few weeks last year and V8 juice and Clamato juice have been out of stock recently.

Spam has not been available for many weeks and Rose's lime cordialis seldom on the shelves.

When I ask staff in various shops (Alosra, Al Jazira, Jawads etc.) the response is usually, "They are not sending it any more".

Is this true?

If the shops do not request a new consignment, the distributors in Europe and elsewhere will not send it.

Can someone please explain why it is so hard to maintain adequate stocks of simple, non-perishable products in Bahrain?
